Hull Seahawks and Leeds Knights continue to set the pace in the Planet Ice NIHL National Division, having maintained their unbeaten starts in Gameweek 2. 

The Seahawks were forced to dig deep, beating winless Telford Tigers 8-4 on Saturday before prevailing at Solway Sharks in a shootout on the following day, having been taken the distance in Dumfries.

Leeds also produced a flawless weekend, starting with a 7-0 thrashing of Bristol Pitbulls. They closed it out in Telford, edging the Tigers 6-4.

Elsewhere, Swindon Wildcats’ fine start to the second continued with a four-point weekend of their own.

Last season’s beaten play-off semi-finalists were victorious against Solway Sharks and Berkshire Bees, taking their tally for the season to seven points from a possible eight.

The teams below the Wildcats in the standings from fourth to eighth are separated by just one point.

MK Lightning end the weekend just below Swindon in the standings, having won their only game of the weekend.

Lightning were shootout victors at home to Sheffield Steeldogs, who endured a winless weekend after falling to a home defeat against Bristol on Sunday.

There was also a Saturday shootout at Planet Ice Peterborough, where the Phantoms edged past Berkshire Bees to extend the visitors’ winless start to the season.

The Bees finished their weekend at home to Swindon Wildcats, losing 3-1. They and Telford are the only two sides yet to taste victory this season, although Berkshire do have a point to their name following Saturday’s unsuccessful shootout in Peterborough.
