Following an extensive recruitment process in late 2024, we are excited to welcome Nancy Squires onto the England Ice Hockey board of directors.

Nancy has a strong background in law and sports governance, amassing expertise and experience in strategic planning and governance transformation.

Recently leaving Paddle UK where she operated as their director of governance, Nancy now provides consultancy to organisations in this area.

As part of her role as a director, Nancy will also chair the governance & risk committee of EIH, where she will provide oversight and challenge to the ongoing work to create a best-in-class compliance framework for the organisation.

On the appointment, she said: “I am delighted to join the board of directors at England Ice Hockey.

“It is an exciting time for EIH, with a clear focus on strengthening the governance across this great sport, and taking the game to the level it deserves throughout the country.

“I look forward to working with the board and bringing my expertise in sports governance to the table.”

Henry Staelens, chief executive officer, said: “Nancy is a real asset to England Ice Hockey, and is the first of a new wave of appointments to the board as we look to create a best-in-class governance framework.
