After coming second in the group stages, the team reached the semi-finals, finishing in fourth place overall.

Two of the team’s players, Noah Owen and Finlay Stubbs, also won the skills challenge competition for slalom and shooting on target respectively.

The final results for the tournament were as follows:

1. Szigéti Bikák Sport (Hungary)
2. JHVL (Czechia)
3. MOSTEČTÍ LVI (Czechia)
4. Slough Jets (England)
5. HC Slovan Louny (Czechia)
6. Ice Pirates (Turkiye)
7. SCC Adler Berlin White (Germany)
8. SCC Adler Berlin Red (Germany)

Junior Jets coach Russell Stevens said: “The development and resilience shown by the players was applaudable.

“Many of these teams were select squads, currently on tournament tours, all of whom are 2014 born. Our team were comprised of eight top-age players and 10 players who are 2015/2016 born, all of whom play for Slough.

“The tournament was going to be challenge for our young players with many advanced European rules, a far more physical style of play and strong competition.

“The team were there to compete and held their own. They dug in until the end of each game and threw themselves into the new gameplay.

“The young players handled their losses well and showed incredible sportsmanship. The team were a commendable representation of Slough Jets Ice Hockey Club and England Ice Hockey.

“I have no doubt this experience will be fundamental in the development of these young athletes.”
