Following last weekend’s action, the England Ice Hockey Department of Player Safety (DOPS) have issued the following sanctions:
- Ryan Watt (Streatham Redhawks) | 2 game suspension – Fighting
- Brandon Miles (Slough Jets) | 5 game suspension – 2 games for fighting, 1 game for exceeding 10 penalty points and 2 games for exceeding 15 penalty points
- Harry Rushby (Nottingham Lions) | 3 game suspension – 2 games for checking from behind and 1 game for game misconduct- use of homophobic language.
- Additional comments: Opponent was left in a vulnerable position by the action.
- Ash Barnes (Solent Junior Devils) | 2 game suspension – Boarding
- Additional comments: Defenceless opponent was thrown violently into the boards, with the opponent having travelled some distance to make a late hit. Player had ample time to adjust to avoid or minimise contact, but did not.
- Kian Lloyd (Chelmsford Warriors) | 3 game suspension – 2 games for checking from behind and 1 game for exceeding 10 penalty points
- Additional comments: Opponent was not aware of the impending hit. The check was delivered with speed and force, with no attempt to play the puck. Opponent was left in a vulnerable position, recklessly endangering them.
- Daniel Tamasauskas (Lee Valley Lions) | 1 game suspension – Illegal check to the head
- Additional comments: Contact to the face cage with a cross-checking motion, recklessly endangering the opponent.
- Ronnie Grimes (Altrincham Aces) | 1 game suspension – Fighting in the last 5 minutes of the game.
- Jordan Bloom (Coventry NIHL Blaze) | 2 game suspension – 1 game for fighting in the last 5 minutes of the game and 1 game for exceeding 10 penalty points
