Volunteer of the Month: Vanessa Clarke and Susan Peaker

Well done to our deserving England Ice Hockey Volunteer of the Month joint-winners for March: Vanessa Clarke and Susan Peaker.

Both Vanessa and Susan, volunteers for Sheffield Steelkings Para Ice Hockey Club, miss every home game – and for good reason.

They are unable to watch any of the on-ice action as they are always manning the club’s merchandise, raffle and tombola stall, and have done so for a number of years.

Both do this willingly to help raise as much money as possible to support the running and long-term growth of the club.

The two women also volunteer and help out during training sessions and for away games, reinforcing their commitment to the Steelkings.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of clubs across all levels of the sport, which is why people like Vanessa and Susan are so deserving of an award like this.
