From the 2026/27 season, our weekly updates will publish the player, the club, the rule, and the length of suspension. This gives clubs and members a clear, consistent view of how sanctions are being applied across the sport.

We have taken the decision to keep the detailed reasoning behind individual decisions out of the public domain, other than where the seriousness of an incident makes publication appropriate. Almost everyone in our sport plays alongside a full-time job, and detailed published accounts of on-ice incidents have had consequences for players in their careers. This reaches well beyond what any suspension is meant to achieve. A suspension in the sport should stay in the sport.

Clubs and the players involved will continue to receive the full reasoning directly, so nothing changes for anyone party to a decision. Where an incident is serious enough that the wider sport needs to understand the thinking behind it, we will share this with you.
