Q&A with CEO Henry Staelens

We are inviting you to send in questions for England Ice Hockey CEO Henry Staelens, as part of a special Q&A which will be released later this month.

Staelens took on the role of CEO in late 2024, as part of the improved collaboration between EIH and Ice Hockey UK (IHUK) which saw executive expertise and resources shared between the two organisations.

Since April 2023, Staelens has held the role of CEO at IHUK, spearheading their six-year strategy to give the sport a sustainable future and long-term success.

With several new additions to the EIH board in recent months, and with plenty of exciting developments taking place behind the scenes, this Q&A will provide the opportunity for players, coaches, parents and supporters to send in the questions they feel matter.

Staelens said: “I’ve long been a proud advocate of transparent and honest communication, which is why I’m keen to invite questions from the wider ice hockey community.

“When I took on the role of CEO, I was clear that this would be a new chapter at EIH.

“Appetite for the sport continues to reach new levels, demonstrated by the success of our recent NIHL Steel City Showdown, the Final Four weekend in Coventry, and the excitement which is building for our upcoming WNIHL Finals.

“But in order for us to grow as a sport, we must understand the views of our wider stakeholders and address important issues head-on.

“I urge everyone to send their questions in. With your support and feedback, we can continue the upward trajectory of ice hockey in the UK.”

Please send your questions to media@englandicehockey.com before midday on Monday 19 May.
