Disciplinary | Saturday 1 February

Following last weekend’s action, the England Ice Hockey Department of Player Safety (DOPS) have issued the following sanctions:

  • Jarvis Hunt (Peterborough Phantoms) | 2 game suspension after DOPS/GRP review – Fighting
    • Additional comments: Fighting, whilst tolerated during game play, involves equal and willing combatants or a variation of this covered under the rules. It does not cover a player picking up and “body slamming” an opponent to the ice, causing reckless endangerment.
  • Regan O’Neil (Invicta Dynamos) | 1 game suspension – Fighting
    • Additional comments: Player was the instigator and aggressor, striking his opponent with multiple punches.
  • Callum Wells (Chelmsford Chieftains) | 1 game suspension – Charging
    • Additional comments: Player jumped into his opponent, causing reckless endangerment.
  • Joe Covey (Oxford City Stars) | 2 game suspension – Illegal check to the head
    • Additional comments: Player skated towards an opponent and delivered a cross-check to the head/neck area.
  • Kristians Kasjanovs (Cardiff Fire) | 3 game suspension – Fighting
    • Additional comments: Player was the instigator and aggressor. He threw several punches towards the head of an opponent, pulled the opponent’s helmet from his head and hit him with it.
  • Kristians Kasjanovs (Cardiff Fire) | 3 game suspension – Hitting threshold of 15 penalty points

Total: 6 game suspension for Kristians Kasjanovs.
