Following last weekend’s action, the England Ice Hockey Department of Player Safety (DOPS) have issued the following sanctions:

• Liam Morris (Berkshire Bees) | 5 game suspension after DRS review (two suspended pending no further instances of this nature before the end of the 2024/25 season) – Slashing
  • Additional comments: The slash was directly on an unprotected area of the wrist, delivered with force during a stoppage of play. The player slashed would not be expecting to protect himself from a slash as it was not during game play.
• Liam Morris (Berkshire Bees) | 3 game suspension after DRS review – Boarding
  • Additional comments: The Berkshire player checks his opponent, who is thrown violently into the boards, with the first point of contact with the boards appearing to be the back of the head/neck area. The puck is behind the goal, and no attempt is made by the Berkshire player to play the puck.
• Liam Morris (Berkshire Bees) | 1 game suspension – Hitting threshold of 10 penalty points

Total: 9 game suspension for Liam Morris.

• Kieran Brown (Leeds Knights) | 1 game suspension after DRS review – Fighting
  • Additional comments: The player is seen throwing a punch to the bottom of a ruck on a vulnerable player. The video footage is inconclusive as to where contact is made.
• Kieran Brown (Leeds Knights) | 1 game suspension – Hitting threshold of 10 penalty points

Total: 2 game suspension for Kieran Brown.

• Zachary Yokoyama (Romford Raiders) | 1 game suspension after DRS review – Illegal check to the head
  • Additional comments: The primary point of contact was to the head, causing reckless endangerment to the Peterborough Player. In mitigation, the contact was minimal and as a result of a mistimed check, and the head was not targeted
• Tanner Butler (Bristol Pitbulls) | 2 game suspension after DRS review – Illegal check to the head
  • Additional comments: The primary point of contact was to the head being driven into the boards, causing reckless endangerment to the Solway Player. In mitigation, the player being checked turned prior to the hit,  dropping his head into a vulnerable position, but the checking player had time to avoid or minimise the contact.
• Jordan Buesa (Leeds Knights) | 1 game suspension – Hitting threshold of 10 penalty points
• Elliot Dervish (Romford Buccaneers) | 2 game suspension – Fighting
  • Additional comments: Player delivered several punches to the head of the opposing player, who was an unwilling opponent.
• Leo Markey (Peterborough Phantoms NIHL 2) | 2 game suspension – Spitting
  • Additional comments: Player spat upwards and towards the away team bench area.
• Leo Markey (Peterborough Phantoms NIHL 2) | 2 game suspension – Hitting threshold of 10 penalty points

Total: 4 game suspension for Leo Markey.

• Ben Ealey-Newman (Slough Jets) | 1 game suspension after DRS review – Slashing
  • Additional comments: Two-handed slash to the back of the leg.
