Disciplinary | Saturday 28 September

Following last weekend’s action, the England Ice Hockey Department of Player Safety (DOPS) have issued the following sanctions:

  • Calum McGill (Hull Seahawks) | 1 game suspension – Checking from behind
  • Oli Endicott (Leeds Knights) | 1 game suspension – Illegal check to the head
  • Tomasz Malasinski (Swindon Wildcats) | 3 game suspension – Illegal check to the head
    • Additional comments: Malasinski makes no attempt to play the puck, which is loose. He checks the Berkshire Bees player, who was not in possession of the puck, and elevates into the check. Primary point of contact is the shoulder into the head, and this action was both reckless and caused endangerment.
  • Jared Knowles (Widnes Wild) | 3 game suspension – Illegal check to the head
    • Additional comments: Player unaware of hit. Point of contact is head/neck area, recklessly endangering the opponent.
  • Damarni James (Widnes Wild) | Mandatory 1 game suspension – Fighting
    • Additional comments: Fighting in the last five minutes of the game.
  • Alex Parry (Deeside Dragons) | Mandatory 1 game suspension – Fighting
    • Additional comments: Fighting in the last five minutes of the game.
  • Harry Rushby (Nottingham Lions NIHL 2) | 2 game suspension – Fighting
    • Additional comments: Fighting a downed opponent, and fighting occurred in the last five minutes of regulation time.
  • Joseph Gray (Kingston Sharks NIHL 2) | 4 game suspension – Slashing
    • Additional comments: Two-handed slash to the face of an opponent which, had that opponent not been wearing a face cage, would have caused serious injury. Action recklessly endangered an opponent.
