Following last weekend’s action, the England Ice Hockey Department of Player Safety (DOPS) have issued the following sanctions:
- Iona Harrison (Whitley Bay Beacons 2) | 1 game suspension – Physical abuse of officials
- Additional comments: Player applied physical force against an official whilst they were going about their on-ice duties.
- Brandon Anderton (Solihull Barons) | 2 game suspension – Checking from behind
- Additional comments: Opponent was in a vulnerable position and unaware of the impending check.
- Lawson Glasby (Sutton Sting) | 2 game suspension – Butt-ending
- Additional comments: Player made initial contact with opponent’s head/shoulder area.
- Hayden Allen (Lee Valley Lions) | 2 game suspension – Checking from behind
- Additional comments: There was no attempt to play the puck. The opponent was in a vulnerable position, with no chance to defend himself or brace for the hit.
- Luke Clark (Peterborough Phantoms 2) | 2 game suspension – Roughing
- Additional comments: Player used his blocker hand to deliver a punch to the back of an opponent’s head. Opponent was also in a vulnerable position.
- Josh Hickman (MK Thunder) | 3 game suspension – Fighting
- Additional comments: Penalty assess after DRS review. Player was the primary aggressor, removes his gloves and delivers multiple punches while his opponent is being restrained/held by other players and unable to effectively defend himself.
- Liam Bartholomew (Telford Tigers 2) | 2 game suspension – Checking from behind.
- Additional comments: Penalty assess after DRS review. Player delivers a stick-driven cross-check/push to an opponent in a vulnerable posture and in close proximity to the boards, recklessly endangering them.
