Dear ice hockey community,
We’re entering a new and exciting chapter for our sport – and we want you to be part of it.
Following the recent announcement from Ice Hockey UK on the unification of our sport’s leadership, and the launch of a new partnership with the NHL to deliver NHL Street across the UK, the UK Ice Hockey Foundation is proud to be part of this renewed, collaborative momentum.
Together, we are building a modern, inclusive and united development system to grow the game from grassroots to elite.
As a registered charity (CIO 1197638), our mission is to increase participation, improve access and develop talent across all four nations through sustainable, values-led programming.
This work is being delivered in close collaboration with Ice Hockey UK, England Ice Hockey and Scotland Ice Hockey – ensuring aligned pathways and unified standards across the UK. Together, we’re committed to building a structure that works in partnership with clubs, coaches and communities at every level.
At the heart of this vision is a bold new regional development model, designed to ensure every player, coach, and family – no matter where they live – has access to clear pathways, support, and opportunity.
We’re looking for passionate, experienced individuals to lead the next phase of hockey development in the UK:
National manager, hockey development
Leads the strategic planning and delivery of player and coach development initiatives, focusing on U14 and older players. Manages the regional hockey development coach network and aligns local delivery with national performance goals.
National manager, goaltending development
A national lead for all things goaltending – from grassroots to elite. This role shapes the UK’s goaltending curriculum, coach education, talent identification and goalie performance pathways.
National manager, membership growth & development
Drives youth participation for ages 5–11 by leading “Try Hockey” programmes and entry-level initiatives. Helps clubs grow their base, build inclusive grassroots delivery and champion the GB Way across foundational age groups.
As this model grows, we’ll also be launching a series of regional development roles to support clubs and players on the ground.
These will include regional development coaches, regional goaltending leads and growth & activation roles – so stay tuned for more opportunities to get involved in your local area.
This new structure will:
Each full-time role is salaried between £50,000–£60,000 and involves UK-wide travel and strategic impact. To apply, please send your CV, cover letter and references to: careers@icehockeyuk.co.uk
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
If you’re passionate about the future of our sport – or know someone with the energy and experience to make a difference – we’d love to hear from you.
Let’s build the future of UK ice hockey, together.
Yours in hockey,
The UK Ice Hockey Foundation
