There’s plenty on the line this weekend as we edge closer to the end of the Planet Ice NIHL National Division season.
A difficult Gameweek 25 could lie ahead for leaders MK Lightning, who face two of the sides already confirmed for the end-of-season playoffs.
A home game against Hull Seahawks kicks off Milton Keynes’ weekend on Saturday, before they travel to sixth-placed Peterborough Phantoms the following evening.
Any slip-up could see Leeds Knights return to the division’s summit, should they be triumphant in back-to-back home games against Romford Raiders and Bristol Pitbulls.
Romford come into the weekend seventh in the standings, and with their second game of the weekend taking them to Dumfries to face Solway Sharks, the Raiders know this could be a pivotal 48 hours for their playoff aspirations.
Elsewhere, notable games for sides already confirmed for the top eight include Swindon Wildcats’ mouth-watering battle with Peterborough at the Link Centre on Saturday, and games for playoff hopefuls Telford Tigers against the higher-ranked Sheffield Steeldogs and Hull.
Telford currently occupy eighth spot, but a 7-4 defeat to Solway last weekend means they sit just three points above the Sharks having played a game more.
