There is plenty of excitement this weekend in Gameweek 9 of the Planet Ice NIHL National Division, with a double-header at the bottom of the table and a top-two battle taking the headlines.

Telford Tigers and Berkshire Bees, who head into the weekend occupying the bottom two places in the division, face off twice in quick succession.

They open the weekend’s action in Berkshire on Saturday, before closing out the round in Shropshire the following day. Both sides will be eager to pick up four vital points and make up ground on the sides above them.

Nearer the top, Leeds Knights enter the weekend at the summit following back-to-back wins over Telford last weekend.

They travel to second-placed Sheffield Steeldogs on Saturday – a side they beat 7-0 in Leeds two weeks ago.

The Knights end the weekend at home as they host Swindon Wildcats on Sunday, while Sheffield travel south to take on Romford Raiders.

The former league leaders, MK Lightning, are in action twice this weekend.

They welcome Peterborough Phantoms to Planet Ice MK on Saturday, before travelling to fourth-placed Hull Seahawks on Sunday.

Hull, themselves, are in action on Saturday too, as they head to the Link Centre for a meeting with Swindon.

Elsewhere, eighth and ninth face off on Saturday as Bristol Pitbulls host Solway Sharks.

Solway are without a second game this weekend, while Bristol travel to Peterborough on Sunday for a matchup against the Phantoms.
