As part of the continued alignment of the national pathway, applications are now open for British players competing overseas within the 2009, 2010 and 2011 birth years who wish to be considered for Showcase 2026 at iceSheffield.

The intention is to ensure that British players developing within international systems remain connected to the Great Britain pathway and are assessed within the same structured framework as UK-based athletes.

Players selected at U17 and U15 level will:

• Compete in three games across three days
• Take part in classroom sessions and structured video review
• Engage in S&C sessions aligned to long-term development principles
• Receive individual feedback following the event

Performance will be monitored by our coaches, supported by UK IHF coaching staff as part of the wider Road to GB progression model.

Following submission of the application form:

• The player’s current Head Coach will be contacted
• Performance context will be reviewed
• Selection decisions will align with the same evidence-led criteria applied across the domestic player pool

The aim is consistency, fairness and transparency across all environments in which British players are developing.
