Slough Jets have proudly announced the launch of their new Community Award, designed to reward and celebrate junior players for their dedication not only to the game, but also their positive contributions off the ice.
The programme, sponsored by HockeyStation.com, will shine a spotlight on players who demonstrate their initiative, compassion, leadership and commitment to their community.
Community champions will be recognised each month for their efforts off the ice, including volunteer work, fundraising, mentoring, acts of kindness and many other impactful activities.
Slough Jets say they aim to encourage players to be role models, both on the ice, in the changing room and in the community.
Head coach Lukas Smital expressed the importance of this new initiative, saying: “At Slough, we believe that developing strong character is just as important as developing great athletes.
“The junior section of the club is at the heart of what we do, and we are excited to launch this programme to highlight our players who want to make a difference in their community and to inspire others to do the same.”
Keep yours eyes peeled across Slough Jets’ social media channels over the coming weeks as they prepare to announce their first community champions!
