Slough Spitfires announce coaching team for debut season

Simon Beere and Alan Bradburn have been announced as Slough Spitfires’ coaching team for the 2025/26 season.

Both men bring a wealth of experience to the Spitfires in their quest for silverware during the upcoming season, and will help build solid foundations for the future of the team.

Slough Jets head coach and director of hockey Lukas Smital will also be involved with the Spitfires, offering his guidance to the team.

Beere joins Slough from Oxford City Stars, where he took the role of assistant coach for the 2024/25 season, as well as balancing the role of head coach for Oxford Stars’ Under 18s.

He has also had previous coaching experience with Basingstoke Bison’s Under 18s and Basingstoke Buffalo where, in 2023/24, they were crowned NIHL 2 South playoff champions at Alexandra Palace.

In addition to the coaching expertise, Beere also has playing experience having represented Basingstoke Buffalo and the Wightlink Raiders.

Meanwhile, Alan Bradburn is well known within the Slough system due to his previous role as assistant coach for Slough Jets’ Under 18s.

He also spent a season as head coach of the club’s Under 16s side.

Bradburn has also been helping out with Slough Jets, which will add a great amount of experience to the team coming through the system.

Earlier this month, it was confirmed that Slough Spitfires had been admitted to the NIHL 2 South ahead of the new season.

Slough’s move to introduce a new NIHL 2 team under the Slough Jets umbrella reinforces the club’s commitment to junior development and creating a clear pathway for young players progressing from junior hockey.
