Congratulations to Adam Woodliffe, our England Ice Hockey Volunteer of the Month for February.
For almost a decade, Adam has been team coach at Nottingham Mavericks, one of the largest and most successful university ice hockey clubs in Britain.
A regular at all home and away games, he continues to inspire the next generation of hockey players and looks to develop their talents in a fun and informative way.
Nottingham Mavericks’ growth has been exceptional. The club play at the Motorpoint Arena and currently compete across all leagues within the British Universities Ice Hockey Association (BUIHA).
His time in ice hockey has seen much success, most recently in 2024 when he coached Nottingham Trent University to Varsity success.
Off the ice, Adam is a huge champion of mental health. And in recent years, he has fundraised for Nottinghamshire Mind and is in regular communication with team members to check on their own mental health and wellbeing.
Adam has been described as a “legend and inspiration” for the work he puts in, both on a game day and behind the scenes. Without doubt, his tireless efforts continue to help ice hockey thrive in Nottingham.
