Well done to Kingston Ice Hockey Club registration secretary Claire Kirby, who has been chosen as November’s England Ice Hockey Volunteer of the Month.
As one of her nominees explains, Claire isn’t just the club’s registration secretary – she is everyone’s secretary!
She has been recognised for her tireless work supporting others at the club – no task, it appears, is too big or small.
Described as the “Spreadsheet Queen”, one nominee explains how many at the club would be lost without her.
Other phrases used to describe Claire include “oracle”, “absolute gem” and “the club’s greatest asset”.
This proves what a much-loved figure Claire is at Kingston Ice Hockey Club, and her hard work implementing new processes is done to ensure that life is made easier for others around her who are involved with the administration side of the sport.
Claire recently started to support the club’s ‘Lean to Play’ programme, ensuring that when a young person joins the club, the process is as seamless and straightforward as possible for parents and managers.
She gives up so much of her time for others without even giving it a second thought.
Claire’s selflessness shines through, and it is for this reason that she is a worthy recipient of this month’s Volunteer of the Month award.
