Leeds Knights maintained their lead at the top of the Planet Ice NIHL National Division with back-to-back victories over Peterborough Phantoms at the weekend.

Despite a late surge from the Phantoms in the late stages of Saturday’s clash at the Planet Ice Leeds, the Knights held on to win the first tie 5-3, before claiming a 4-1 victory in the reverse fixture away at Peterborough on Sunday evening.

Close rivals Milton Keynes Lightning kept the pressure on the Knights as they stormed into an emphatic 10-1 win over Sheffield Steeldogs at the Planet Ice Milton Keynes on Saturday.

Swindon Wildcats also enjoyed a four-point weekend after they overcame Raiders IHC 7-3 on Saturday before initiating an inspiring comeback from 4-1 down to win 7-6 in a thriller against Bees IHC.

Raiders IHC would bounce back from their defeat against the Wildcats with a 4-2 win on the road at Sheffield Steeldogs the following day.

Another side that went 2/2 over the weekend were Telford Tigers, who claimed back-to-back victories over Hull Seahawks with a 4-3 win at home on Saturday before travelling to East Yorkshire to round off a perfect game week with a 5-2 victory.

Solway Sharks moved up to 8th in the league table with their own perfect weekend as they recorded two victories at home against Bristol Pitbulls – running out 6-4 and 5-3 wins, respectively.
