The Planet Ice NIHL National Division is back for another set of fixtures this weekend, with MK Lightning hoping to retain their grip on top spot.
Lightning are two points ahead of nearest challengers Leeds Knights having played three games more. The two teams are both in action once this weekend, with Milton Keynes hosting Bees IHC on Saturday and the Knights on the road at Swindon Wildcats the following day.
Swindon will be at home twice this weekend as they make their long-awaited return to the Link Centre. They start the weekend with a home clash with Sheffield Steeldogs, who currently sit 7th in the league standings.
The weekend’s hockey begins on Friday night as Hull Seahawks and Solway Sharks do battle.
The Seahawks will be keen to close the six-point gap which stands between themselves and Peterborough Phantoms in 3rd, while the Sharks are just two points above bottom-of-the-league Bristol Pitbulls and will be keen to give themselves more breathing space.
A double defeat last week saw the Pitbulls leapfrogged by Raiders IHC. They will need to be at their best to bounce back, with a challenging home game against Peterborough and trip to Hull on the horizon.
Raiders IHC, meanwhile, will look to build on their four-point week last time out when they visit Telford Tigers on Saturday night before welcoming Sheffield Steeldogs to Romford.
