Following last weekend’s action, the England Ice Hockey Department of Player Safety (DOPS) have issued the following sanctions:

  • Jack Brammer (Sheffield Steeldogs) | 1 game suspension – Fighting
  • Dominic Wealthall (MK Thunder) | 2 game suspension – Illegal check to the head
    • Additional comments: Opponent unable to mitigate check.
  • Tom Ashmore (Swindon Wildcats NIHL 2) | 1 game suspension – Kicking
    • Additional comments: Attempted kick, no contact observed.
  • Kyle Bradburn (Slough Jets) | 5 game suspension following DRS review – Illegal check to the head
    • Additional comments: Point of contact is head/neck, upwards movement and reckless endangerment. Injury to opponent supported by injury report form.
  • Harvey Stead (Streatham Redhawks) | 2 game suspension following DRS review – Clipping
    • Additional comments: Dangerous and avoidable clip to the knee area.
  • Mark Austin (MK Thunder) | Mandatory 1 game suspension – Fighting
    • Additional comments: Fighting in the last five minutes of the game.
  • Harry Hatfield | Mandatory 1 game suspension – Fighting
    • Additional comments: Fighting in the last five minutes of the game.
  • Darren Stattersfield (Billingham Stars) | 4 game suspension following DRS review – Illegal check to the head
    • Additional comments: Point of contact is head/neck. Recklessly endangers opponent, and player unaware of hit.
  • Sam Bryant (Bristol Pitbulls NIHL 2) | Mandatory 1 game suspension – Fighting
    • Additional comments: Third man in was incorrectly recorded on the game sheet as 5 mins. The referee quoted 5 mins for fighting and a game misconduct for third man in.
