Following last weekend’s action, the England Ice Hockey Department of Player Safety (DOPS) have issued the following sanctions:
- Damarni James (Widnes Wild) | 2 game suspension – Hitting threshold of 10 penalty points
- Dean Holland (Whitley Warriors) | 8 game suspension following DRS review (three suspended pending no further instances of this nature before the end of the 2024/25 season) – Illegal check to the head
- Additional comments: Player was unaware and in a vulnerable position, No attempt to play the Puck, and first point of contact was the head. Arms extended out/upwards, recklessly endangering the opponent. An injury was sustained, supported by an injury report form.
- James Royds (Blackburn Hawks) | 6 game suspension following DRS review (two suspended pending no further instances of this nature before the end of the 2024/25 season) – Kneeing
- Additional comments: First point of contact was the knee, recklessly endangering the opponent. An injury was sustained, supported by an injury report form.
- Morgan Parsons (Oxford City Stars) | 2 game suspension – Fighting
- Additional comments: Left crease and charged at opponent, who was unable to defend himself, before throwing several punches.
- James Spencer (Sutton Sting) | 1 game suspension – Fighting
- Cameron Akers (Sutton Sting) | 1 game suspension – Fighting
- Cameron Akers (Sutton Sting) | 2 game suspension – Hitting threshold of 10 penalty points
Total: 3 game suspension for Cameron Akers.
- Lewis Hall (Billingham Buccaneers) | 1 game suspension – Fighting
- Ethan McLaughlin (Billingham Buccaneers) | 1 game suspension – Fighting
- Sean Griffiths (Billingham Buccaneers) | 2 game suspension – Elbowing
- Additional comments: Opponent was unaware of the impending contact, and the player’s skates leave the ice to deliver the elbow.
- Daniel Hughes (Billingham Buccaneers) | 3 game suspension – Illegal check to the head
- Additional comments: Reckless endangerment of an opponent. First point of contact was to the head/neck area.
- Ben Roscoe (Deeside Ducks) | 2 game suspension – Illegal check to the head
- Additional comments: The player recklessly endangered his opponent. This was an unnecessary check on a player who was in a vulnerable position and unaware of the impending hit.
- James Buckingham (Guildford Phoenix) | 2 game suspension – Cross-checking
