England Ice Hockey is delighted to confirm its fourth annual Pride Week, which will take place from January 18-26, 2025.
Clubs from all sections of the EIH family are invited and encouraged to be part of Pride 2025 and build on the successes of previous events.
Pride 2025 covers two game weekends, giving as many teams as possible the chance to host a pride game/event at home.
All club events and initiatives will be shared across EIH’s digital channels in the run-up and throughout Pride 2025, highlighting the great work being done.
Features such as Pride jerseys, rainbow stick tape and rainbow laces are all permitted and encouraged along with other less visible signs – such as inviting members of a local LGBTQ+ charity or organisation to a game and working with them on advocacy, support and education.
This year, representatives from clubs across the EIH will feature in a ‘You Can Play’ video, similar to the one produced by Cardiff Devils and other hockey clubs: https://youtu.be/2o2a8A0sSgM.
This will reinforce the message that ‘If you can play, you can play’.
EIH chief operating and development officer Grant King said: “Pride Week has become a key feature of EIH’s calendar.
“The three events so far have delivered increased information, awareness and education to all members of the hockey community around the importance of diversity, inclusion and making our sport and our venues a safe space for people to be themselves, whether they are on or off the ice.
“We are excited to confirm the 2025 event in January and look forward to sharing great initiatives, news and images from our clubs throughout the England Ice Hockey community.
“Pride Week has grown so much since year one and we are grateful for the continued support of our clubs and their incredible people in making this happen.”
EIH’s digital channels will share more information on Pride 2025 in the coming weeks as the main event gets ever closer.
