‘What You Need To Know’ about the
NIHL Steel City Showdown 2025

This weekend, the England Ice Hockey Events team and the National Ice Hockey League, along with Everyone Active, will be opening the doors to the Annual Finals Weekend at Everyone Active IceSheffield as we welcome fans from across the UK as we watch eight teams play for silverware.  

Starting on Saturday 12th April 2025, with the doors opening at 09:45, the fixtures will be as follows: 

  • NIHL Laidler Playoff Grand Final – Telford Tigers v Sutton Sting– Faceoff at 10:45
  • NIHL Wilkinson Playoff Grand Final – Guildford Phoenix v Peterborough Phantoms 2 – Faceoff at 13:45
  • NIHL Moralee Playoff Grand Final – Billingham Stars v Blackburn Hawks – Faceoff at 16:45
  • NIHL Britton Playoff Grand Final – Slough Jets v Streatham RedHawks – Faceoff at 19:45

On Sunday 13th April 2025, doors will open at 12:00, with the following fixtures: 

  • National Playoff Champions Division 2 – Faceoff at 13:00. 
  • National Playoff Champions Division 1 – Faceoff at 16:30 

Please note that we advise fans leave plenty of time to arrive to park, collect their wristband and find their seats. 

BE PREPARED! 

To be prepared for a smooth entrance into IceSheffield, please read the following points below ahead of arriving this weekend.  

We take the safety and security of all our visitors very seriously and our staff are trained to ensure all our visitors have a safe, secure, and enjoyable experience. When attending this weekend, please ensure you arrive in plenty of time to complete our security checks. 

Our security team are a great team of fully trained, professional, and approachable people that have everyone’s safety at the forefront of everything they do. You will see stewards all around the venue, ready to answer any of your questions. Please cooperate with the security checks and support our stewards as they carry out important work to keep us safe.  

We encourage everyone attending this weekend to remain vigilant and if you have the slightest concern about anything or anyone, please report it to our security team who will ensure that your concerns are investigated.  

SECURITY CHECKS UPON ARRIVAL 

To enhance the security of our venue and the customer experience, when you arrive at the venue at iceSheffield, your ticket will be checked and scanned along with random bag search, with no exceptions.  

If you have a pacemaker fitted and have been advised you shouldn’t undergo certain security checks (i.e. security wand checks), please let the security staff know as you approach them, and they’ll use an alternative search method. 

Please note that no food, cans, bottles, or alcohol may be brought into the venue. Only food and drink purchased in the venue may be consumed in the venue, except in limited circumstances on proven medical grounds and after advising the venue in advance. 

TICKET SCANNING 

Ahead of arriving, we advise that you download all tickets and either have these saved on your mobile or printed.  

When you arrive, please have your tickets ready for checking with the brightness turned up on your mobile device, with the QR code zoomed into.  

IN THE ARENA 

Once you are in the arena wearing your wristband (which is waterproof and valid for both days), you will then be able to find your allocated seat. Please note that all attendees will have allocated seats and are requested to ensure all walk ways are kept clear. Around the venue we have various food & drink outlets.

What can you find this weekend? 

  • Food Venders on the Main Concourse.
  • Bar is Block 10
  • Food & Drink will also be available from Rink Café
  • EIH Supporters Table where they will have programmes and memorable pucks available for fans to purchase.
  • Cross Check Clothing on the Main Concourse.
  • Plus various vending machines that can be used.  

SUPPORTERS TABLE  

50/50 tickets will be available to be purchased from our sellers around the arena in orange Hi-Viz jackets plus from the Supporters Table on the Concourse. Tickets are £1 each. Sales will close at the end of the 2nd intermission of the last fixture on both days with the winning number announced and posted on Social Media during the 3rd period of the last fixture on both days.  

Shoot the Puck!This is your chance to show off your skills and wish a cash prize!! Raffle tickets for Shoot the Puck is available on the Concourse at £2 per tickets with offers available. Winners will be announced during the 2nd period to meet at the Boardroom ready to play Shoot the Puck in the 2nd Interval of all our fixtures this weekend.

Programmes – With thanks to Kingpin Sports Design, copies of this year’s programme will be available to purchase both from the Supporters Table on the Concourse, for only £10!

NIHL Steel City Showdown Puck – After last year’s very quick sell out of collectable pucks both North & South, we are pleased to confirm that pucks will be available to be purchased with our Supporters Table on the Concourse for only £8.  

Please note that we accept both cash & card payments this weekend at our Supporters Table along with selected 50/50 sellers also with card machines.

TRAVELLING TO THE SKYDOME ARENA 

If you are travelling to IceSheffield by car, parking is available onsite at iceSheffield, Coleridge Road, Sheffield, S9 5DA.  Please note that parking is £5 per car at the arena.
