Following last weekend’s action, the England Ice Hockey Department of Player Safety (DOPS) have issued the following sanctions:

  • Regan O’Neil (Invicta Dynamos) | 2 game suspension – Hitting threshold of 10 penalty points
  • George Howe (Swindon Wildcats NIHL 2) | 3 game suspension (two suspended pending no further instances of this nature before the end of the 2024/25 season) – Spearing
    • Additional comments: Spearing was to the groin area of an opponent.
  • George Howe (Swindon Wildcats NIHL 2) | 2 game suspension – Hitting threshold of 10 penalty points

Total: 5 game suspension for George Howe (2 games suspended).

  • Kohen Taylor (Hull Jets) | 2 game suspension – Unsportsmanlike conduct
    • Additional comments: Player held opponent’s cage/helmet and shook with aggressive force.
  • Bradley Wright (Peterborough Phantoms NIHL 2) | 4 game suspension after DRS review – Illegal check to the head
    • Additional comments: Illegal check to the head/neck area. The first point of contact was the shoulder then head. Both feet left the ice to deliver the hit with momentum, recklessly endangering the opponent.
  • Alfie Kelly (Altrincham Aces) | 2 game suspension – Hitting threshold of 10 penalty points
