Volunteer of the Month: Seth Bennett

We’d like to congratulate Seth Bennett: our England Ice Hockey Volunteer of the Month winner for December.

Chairman of the Leeds Junior Academy, Seth has overseen a Junior Knights setup which currently boasts teams from Under 10s through to Under 19s level.

There are around 150 players currently registered within their development system, with Seth playing a hands-on role in nurturing the very best hockey talent from the local area.

He has been commended for always going above and beyond, offering words of encouragement and handshakes to every player as they leave the rink after training or matches.

Last season, the introduction of a Leeds Knights side in the NIHL 1 North strengthened the pathway from junior hockey through to the senior game – something which Seth has been keen to implement and champion since arriving at the club.

With the Juniors Knights continuing to thrive, nominees say the tireless work of Seth has been a key factor in their recent success.

Seth’s warm, ‘people-first’ approach makes playing for the Junior Knights teams a joy, which is a major factor why the club’s junior provision goes from strength to strength.
