Following a board meeting of England Ice Hockey directors, we are pleased to confirm that Duncan Hough’s interim chair role has been extended to become permanent chair of the board.
Duncan became interim chair in early 2025, and has been instrumental in leading the board during crucial discussions over the past calendar year, including the historic merger-vote approval.
Additionally, Duncan has led the charge to recruit a number of new non-executive independent directors (INEDs), seeing a number of high-calibre expertise join the board during his tenure, leading to code compliance with Sport England.
On his role being made permanent, Duncan Hough said: “I thank the board for their support over the past year or so. We have faced challenges, but we have certainly had much success too.
“I look forward to furthering this work, and continuing to collaborate closely with the boards of Ice Hockey UK and Scottish Ice Hockey as we look to drive the sport forward for our members.”
Additionally, Nancy Squires and Jamie Gordon have been appointed as vice-chairs.
Having both joined the board in 2025 as INEDs, Nancy’s expertise across legal and governance, coupled with Jamie’s grounding in finance and sports governance, both domestically and internationally, will be important as plans are delivered in the coming period.
Congratulations to Duncan, Nancy and Jamie. We thank them for their commitment to England Ice Hockey and delivering a better future for our members – together as one.
