Following last weekend’s action, the England Ice Hockey Department of Player Safety (DOPS) have issued the following sanctions:

• Andrew Hopkins (Widnes Wild) | 1 game suspension – Fighting in the last 5 minutes of the game
• Connor Lewis (Leeds Knights 2) | 1 game suspension – Fighting in the last 5 minutes of the game
• Ben Ealey-Newman (Slough Jets) | 8 game suspension – 3 games for spearing, 2 games for fighting and 3 game for exceeding both 10 penalty points and 15 penalty points
  • Additional comments: For the spearing charge, the point of contact was the abdomen and the opponent was unable to mitigate, causing reckless endangerment. For the fighting charge, the player pulled his opponent down to the ice, delivering multiple punches to the head of an unwilling combatant. 
• Thomas Barry (Blackburn Hawks) | 2 game suspension – Illegal check to the head
  • Additional comments: Opponent was in a vulnerable position and unaware of hit, causing reckless endangerment.
• Finnely Taylor (Invicta Mustangs) | 5 game suspension – Boarding
  • Additional comments: Opponent was thrown violently into boards, causing reckless endangerment. They were unaware of the hit and unable to mitigate.
• Cameron Kushnirenko (Deeside Dragons NIHL 2) | 3 game suspension – Physical abuse of officials
• Oliver Davies (Lee Valley Lions) | 3 game suspension – 2 games for clipping and 1 game for exceeding 10 penalty points
• Luke Clark (Peterborough Phantoms NIHL 2) | 1 game suspension – Unsportsmanlike conduct
• Anthony Baskerville (Invicta Mustangs) | 1 game suspension – Fighting
• Tyler Poole (Nottingham Lions NIHL 2) | 3 game suspension – Checking from behind
  • Additional comments: Hit through the numbers. No attempt to play the puck. Act was committed in a danger area near the boards, causing reckless endangerment.
• Sam Bryant (Cardiff Canucks) | 1 game suspension – Exceeding 10 penalty points
