Following last weekend’s action, the England Ice Hockey Department of Player Safety (DOPS) have issued the following sanctions:
- Juha Lindgren (Slough Jets) | 1 game suspension – charging
- Additional comments: Check was delivered at speed, causing reckless endangerment. Point of contact was the chest/shoulder area.
- Dominic Wealthall (MK Thunder) | 2 game suspension – Boarding
- Additional comments: Delivered with force, leaving the opponent in a vulnerable position. Action caused reckless endangerment and the opponent fell backwards into the boards head-first.
- Dominic Wealthall (MK Thunder) | 3 game suspension – Hitting threshold of 15 penalty points
- Dominic Wealthall (MK Thunder) | 4 game suspension – Hitting threshold of 20 penalty points
Total: 9 game suspension for Dominic Wealthall.
- Jason Hewitt (Hull Seahawks) | 2 game suspension after DOPS/GRP review (first game of suspension served on March 9) – Slashing
- Additional comments: The slash made contact on or just below the knee, some of which was unprotected, causing reckless endangerment.
- Alex Whyte (Solihull Barons) | 4 game suspension (two suspended pending no further instances of this nature before the end of the 2024/25 season) – Elbowing
- Additional comments: Player was left in vulnerable position. Action recklessly endangered opponent and an injury was sustained, supported by the injury report form.
- Elliot Lewis (Bristol Pitbulls) | 1 game suspension – Hitting threshold of 10 penalty points
