Following last weekend’s action, the England Ice Hockey Department of Player Safety (DOPS) have issued the following sanctions:

  • Jack Whiting (Cardiff Canucks) | 1 game suspension – Fighting
    • Additional comments: Fighting in the last five minutes of the game, and both willing combatants.
  • Aston Lacey (Solent Junior Devils) | 1 game suspension – Fighting
    • Additional comments: Fighting in the last five minutes of the game, and both willing combatants.
  • Tom Brierley (Hull Jets) | 3 game suspension – Fighting
    • Additional comments: Instigator and aggressor, sucker punch. Player continued incitement after fight.
  • Ross Kennedy (Deeside Dragons) | 4 game suspension – Kneeing
    • Additional comments: Contact was at speed and with excessive force, Player stepped into hit with knee, and there was knee-to-knee contact which recklessly endangering the opponent.
  • Friedrich Heinzle (Leeds Knights NIHL 2) | 2 game suspension – Fighting
    • Additional comments: Aggressor. Player repeatedly punched an unwilling opponent.
  • Ben Greenhalgh (Billingham Stars) | 4 game suspension – boarding
    • Additional comments: Player thrown head first into the boards. Outward extension, recklessly endangering opponent and injury noted.
