Following last weekend’s action, the England Ice Hockey Department of Player Safety (DOPS) have issued the following sanctions:

• Thomas Humphries (Sheffield Titans) | 3 game suspension – Fighting
  • Additional comments: Player was the agressor, with a high number of punches thrown against an unwilling opponent.
• Robert Rejna (Haringey Huskies) | 2 game suspension – Checking from behind
  • Additional comments: Player propelled a vulnerable opponent into the boards with force.
• Jared Lane (Streatham Redhawks) | 2 game suspension after DRS review) – Spearing
  • Additional comments: Player speared opponent in the chest area. This is not part of a legal hockey play. Because the incident occurs after the stoppage and involves the use of the stick in a dangerous manner against an opponent, the play meets the standard for Spearing under Rule 62.
