EIHA appoint new coaching general manager

We are excited to confirm the appointment of Pete Winn as the EIHA’s new coaching general manager.

Pete has over 30 years experience as a coach, winning eight national championships at senior level, including a Grand Slam with the Whitley Bay Warriors, before moving into youth hockey developing regional and community programmes for several top junior clubs.

Pete has also attended and coached at several IIHF coaching symposiums and high-performance camps across Europe.

Internationally, he was part of the England National Team Programme as the head coach of the U15, U17, and U19 teams and was selected to represent Great Britain at the IIHF Junior world championships with the U18s.

Pete has over 15 years experience as a coach educator – during this time, he has helped to develop hundreds of coaches at all levels delivering levels 1,2, and 3 courses, and was promoted to the position of technical director of coaching for the English Ice hockey Association. 

Pete has successfully transitioned from ice to inline puck and skater hockey with the creation of the AHDUK Dodgers ice and Inline Hockey Academy in 2017.

With the success of this programme, Pete was appointed as the head coach for BISHA GB U19 team in January 2022, where he guided them to their first gold medal as they won the 2022 IISHF European Championships held in Bordon.
