It promises to be a busy weekend across the NIHL, with a top-of-the-table showdown kicking things off in the Planet Ice NIHL National Division on Friday night.
Leeds Knights have the chance to move seven points clear at the summit as they welcome MK Lightning to Planet Ice Leeds.
The Knights’ weekend continues on the Sunday as the league leaders visit Raiders IHC, whereas second-placed Lightning have a much shorter turnaround, hosting fourth-placed Peterborough Phantoms on Saturday evening.
The Phantoms will end their own weekend with a home game against Sheffield Steeldogs.
Elsewhere, Swindon Wildcats will look to extend their excellent recent run on home ice when Solway Sharks visit the Link Centre.
The Wildcats – who could end the weekend joint-second if other results go their way – will then visit Hull Seahawks on Sunday.
The Seahawks have enjoyed back-to-back four-point weekends and will look to apply further pressure on the teams above with more positive results. Their own weekend kicks off with a short trip to the Steeldogs on Saturday night, in what is undoubtedly one of the games of the round.
There are also some intriguing battles further down the division this weekend, with bottom-of-the-table Bristol Pitbulls visiting fourth-bottom Raiders IHC.
Below the NIHL National Division, it is also a busy weekend of cup competition as the semi-finals take place across various leagues.
