A big weekend beckons in the Planet Ice NIHL National Division, with the top two going head-to-head twice during Gameweek 5 as they bid to finish the round at the top of the standings. 

The Knights go into the latest set of fixtures with a one-point lead at the top, despite only taking two points from a possible four last weekend.

The Seahawks, meanwhile, suffered their first defeat of the season in regulation last Saturday, before bouncing back at the first attempt with a comfortable win over Romford Raiders.

The first meeting between the pair comes at Planet Ice Leeds on Saturday night, then the Hull Ice Arena will play host to the return fixture less than 24 hours later.

Just below the Knights and Seahawks are three teams all locked on 10 points – MK Lightning, Romford and Peterborough Phantoms.

All three are in action home and away this weekend, with the trickiest fixture on paper for the trio seeing sixth-placed Swindon Wildcats host the Phantoms in their only game of the weekend on Saturday night.

Further down the division, Telford Tigers will be keen to build on their first win of the season last weekend. However, they face tricky assignments away in Milton Keynes then Peterborough.

Solway Sharks are another who will have their eyes on climbing up the division as they lock horns with Berkshire Bees and Sheffield Steeldogs – the teams currently either side of them in the standings – over the next couple of days.

Bristol Pitbulls, meanwhile, host Milton Keynes in their only game of the weekend.

The Pitbulls were the only side to play twice and fail to win last weekend, but they remain off the foot of the table and above Telford as their shootout loss to Peterborough last Saturday saw them move onto three points.
