A bumper weekend of action awaits in the Planet Ice NIHL National Division, with 12 games taking place over three nights.

Gameweek 6 begins on Friday as MK Lightning take on Bristol Pitbulls and Telford Tigers travel to Sheffield Steeldogs.

Milton Keynes took advantage of last weekend’s double-header between Leeds Knights and Hull Seahawks and jumped up to second as both of the top two heading into the previous gameweek dropped points.

Lightning will have their eyes on claiming top spot when they travel to Leeds on Sunday.

A home game against the side currently second in the standings isn’t the only tough match-up that the current leaders have to face this weekend, with the Knights travelling south to take on third-placed Romford Raiders on Saturday.

The Raiders are in action on Sunday as well, away at a Peterborough side looking to keep pace with the top four.

The Phantoms also travel north of the border to face Solway Sharks the day prior.

Elsewhere, Hull will look to put pressure on the teams above them as they take on Sheffield on Saturday, before travelling to Telford on Sunday.

Sheffield, in fact, are involved in a tough triple-header this weekend, with two of those outings coming on home ice. In addition to the previously mentioned games against the Tigers and Seahawks, they will end their weekend at iceSheffield against Solway on Sunday.

Telford are one of two other sides having to navigate three fixtures in as many days, with a game against Swindon Wildcats on Saturday in-between their fixtures against Sheffield and Hull.

The Wildcats have the luxury of Saturday’s game being their only outing of the weekend.

Finally, Bristol and Berkshire Bees partake in a double-header – starting in Bristol on Saturday, before facing each other again less than 24 hours later at the Slough Ice Arena.
