The England Ice Hockey Juniors Management Committee are pleased to confirm the layout of the Junior National Finals for the end of the 2023/24 season.
Following recent consultation from all junior clubs via an online questionnaire, we have reviewed the results from the 30 clubs that participated, which has confirmed our position of Junior Nationals in May 2024.
Martin Peters, England Ice Hockey director responsible for junior hockey and the Elite Player Pathway, said: “Over the past few weeks, the Junior Management Committee have been working with clubs to gain feedback for improvements and planning for the 2024-25 season.
“During the feedback, clubs suggested change from the current ROC National Finals, which then prompted the JMC to consult with clubs again for feedback regarding possible changes to our current competitions.
“We want to thank the clubs for their feedback as the results spoke volumes. We also want to thank iceSheffield for giving us extra Ice, and the JMC for being proactive to make changes for this current campaign.”
Junior Management Committee events general manager Danny Perchard said: “National Finals will now change to Under 12s like previous years on the first weekend.
“Then the following weekend, Division 1 top-two teams will have a semi-final, and the winners proceed to the final, Division 2 champions from the north facing the south champions for the U14s, U16s and U18s age groups”
We can confirm that the U12s Junior Nationals will now take place at iceSheffield on May 11/12 with the U14s, U16s and U18s Junior Nationals taking place at iceSheffield on May 18/19.
