Last weekend, Nottingham’s National Ice Centre played host to the first of this summer’s Junior Jamborees.
A total of 80 players from U14-18 level took to the ice at the event, which featured a round robin stage, semi-finals and final.
Team Bruins were the winners of the day, conceding just once during the six matches they played in Nottingham. The final was a closely-fought affair, with the Bruins overcoming Team Oilers 1-0 to seal glory.
Discussing the success of the day, England Ice Hockey’s general manager of junior events, Danny Perchard, said: “We have enjoyed a wonderful start to our summer of Junior Jamborees. The feedback received on the day was overwhelmingly positive, and I’d like to thank all the players and parents who joined us.
“Junior hockey in this country is thriving right now, and we are excited to be hosting so many more events just like this over the coming weeks.”
The Junior Jamboree in Nottingham is just the start of a fantastic summer of youth hockey, with further events taking place across the UK.
Our next jamborees will be in Chelmsford (July 13) for players at U10-12 level, then Slough (July 20) for players at U8-10 level.
To register your interest in attending one of the Junior Jamborees, you must be registered onto ‘EIH Junior Section’ on the TeamApp platform. The Junior Jamborees are available from the app for the members who have registered on there.
PLEASE NOTE: When the event is posted on TeamApp, parents must RSVP per child. If they have more than one child attending, they must sign up to TeamApp with another email address.
Our Junior Jamborees do sell out very quickly, so we advise registering to the TeamApp platform as soon as possible to avoid any disappointment.
